FeaturesSystematix Controls has developed the bench top version of the SX 6000 Single Fiber KAPPA / Charge Analyzer.
New Flow Cytometry Design
Resent research has led to a new method and apparatus for measuring KAPPA and Charge on a single fiber basis. A fluorescent analytical dye makes these measurements possible. The dye absorbs into the surface of the wood fibers and causes the fibers to fluoresce different colors as the fiber’s KAPPA number changes based upon their Charge demand. Used in conjunction with new flow cytometry designs, individual fiber measurements are now possible in an efficient, economic manner.
Automatic Calibration Procedure
Automatic Calibration of the system assures that accuracy of tests will be maintained.
Data Management, Communications and Statistical Analysis
The SX 6000 software allows the operator to display and print complete test results. The test results may be saved to the local hard disk or any network file system. Test information may also be transmitted to another computer over an Ethernet network for additional real time processing. All tests may be saved and later recalled for review or trend analysis.
Labor Saving
All analysis functions are completely PC controlled, freeing lab and operations personnel to perform other duties during the test.
Ease of Operation
Simple, easy to understand, menu-driven, color operator interface with HELP screens.
Rugged Construction
Industrialized PC, heavy-duty mechanical components for long life in a rough industrial process environment.
Systematix Controls, Inc. is a long-recognized leader in pulp and paper process control systems. We provide engineering, systems, installation and high-quality customer support on a worldwide basis.
Functional DescriptionAt power up the Series SX 6000 performs a self-diagnostic and then displays the proprietary analysis application on a 15-inch LCD, touch screen display. The touch screen display shows all test results, operating statuses and allows for full control of the analyzer in a user-friendly manner. Online help is available to the operator at all times during operation.
A test begins by inserting a beaker containing a premixed fiber sample into the beaker cavity and pressing the Start button on the display. The user then enters the specifications for the particular fiber being tested. The analyzer then lowers the sampling probes into the solution automatically and carries out the test automatically. All analysis processes including chemical mixing, flow rates, and test end conditions are automatically controlled by Systematix Controls proprietary software.
Test progress and results are viewed graphically on the LCD touch screen display. Live fiber imagery is available during the test.
After the analysis is complete the test results are stored for later review or trend analysis. Test results may also be printed to either a local printer or any network attached printer. Following a test a flush cycle is run to clear the unit of any extraneous test material.
Periodic calibration of the SX 6000 simply involves inserting a blank solution in place of the actual sample and running a semi-automated calibration. A typical calibration takes about 3 minutes.
